Summary

At TBD, every member of the service team is responsible for maintaining a contagious, upbeat energy that pulses from the restaurant’s heart, the kitchen. As a ‘Front of House’ employee, you are an ambassador of TBD and are expected to represent the restaurant with a warm, gracious, and eager presence at all times. In order to maintain our service and hospitality standards, you may be asked to step out of your role, and should be willing to do so, at any time. Each member and position on our team has an integral place in ensuring that each and every one of our guests’ experiences are unforgettable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepares garnishes, mixes and pre-mixed drinks.
  • Mixes, prepares and serves alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks ordered by guests and servers
  • Sets up and breaks down all portable bars for restaurant events
  • Polishes all bar glassware prior to storing on shelves and wine glass racks
  • Cleans and maintains the bar top, sinks, floors, drains and refrigeration equipment.
  • Inspects the bar prior to opening and secures and stores all beverage and bar food items at the end of the night
  • Adheres to liquor regulations regarding serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) year of related experience
  • Extensive knowledge of drink recipes
  • Knowledge of POS systems
  • Knowledge of federal and state food safety and liquor regulations
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in English (speak, read, write) with guests, co-workers and management
  • Ability to perform assigned duties and essential job functions with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy and cooperativeness
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments

Additional Eligibility Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written modes of communication
  • Ability to read, write, listen to/hear and comprehend simple to complex instruction/direction/details
  • Basic math skills

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • TB Clearance
  • Liquor Card / Manager’s Blue Card

Desired Skills/Education:

  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in the area of craft cocktails

Specific vision abilities required by this job include seeing and color perception.

The Bartender may be subject to shift work, working along and/or with others and, have constant verbal and in-person contact with hotel staff and guests. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be subject to moving mechanical parts, fumes/airborne particles and electrical shock.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but occasionally loud.

Schedule Requirements:

  • The Bartender must be flexible for scheduling; and available on nights, weekends and holidays (as necessary).
