Experience / Qualifications Required
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor’s degree in food science or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality or manufacturing preferred.

General Job Description
- Develop and maintain Quality department including personnel.
- Oversee technical job training and documentation for Quality Technicians.
- Act as chairman of the Food Safety Committee.
- Conduct Monthly Food Safety Audits and compile, assign and verify Monthly Food Safety Audit Deficiencies.
- Participate in the Management Review Meetings.
- Oversee the ‘Pest Management’ program and communicate trends / issues to the management team as needed.
- Implement and maintain Prerequisite, Food Safety and Quality Programs.
- Oversee the ‘Measuring Devices’ program.
- Maintain the ‘Formal Release’ program.
- Establish and maintain product sampling matrices, product specifications and sight samples, communicate revisions to necessary personnel as needed.
- Responsible to oversee annual employee training program.
- Oversee environmental monitoring program and corrective action plan as needed.
- Composite appropriate samples for various testing at an outside laboratory.
- Responsibility to identify food safety and/or product integrity issues and to initiate and record actions for issues reported.
- Responsibility to communicate and review any information deemed necessary, including but not limited to, food safety, product integrity, formulas, specifications and/or changes, with customers.
- Authority to purchase necessary chemicals and lubricants.
- Responsibility to maintain overall plant sanitation.
- Responsible for verifying a preventive control measure, in this position’s absence, refer to ‘In Case of Absence’ above.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
