As part of the Elite Labor & Delivery Nursing Float Pool, Registered Nurses deliver professional nursing care to population specific patients in the Labor & Delivery and Antepartum Units. Follows the Board of Nursing’s (BON) Standards of Nursing Practice utilizing the nursing process in care delivery. Maintains accountability for professional decisions and actions within the parameters of their legal scope of practice and in accordance with the federal, state, and local laws; rules and regulations; and policies, procedures and guidelines of Medical City Healthcare


Education / License / Certifications:

  • BSN required within 24 months of hire
  • Current Texas RN License
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS, ACLS and NRP issued by the American Heart Association required
  • Professional Nursing Organization Membership strongly encouraged.
  • Certification in area of specialty preferred.
  • Fetal heart monitoring, AWHONN and other HCA required courses for L&D nurses in accordance with department education schedule.

Experience:
  • Minimum 18 months experience within an acute care hospital with a minimum one year in a specialty area.
