Essential Responsibilities:

  • Create original graphics, icons, and pictures for the use of social media and other mediums (website, advertisements, signage, products/merchandise, conference displays, etc.)
  • Interface with the Creative Director and various departments to create design solutions that have a high visual impact.
  • Meet with department representatives and/or Creative Director to discuss objectives and requirements for upcoming projects.
  • Offer ideas and suggestions for new ways of enhancing the overall representations and exposure of NLC.
  • Find solutions that fit within potential limitations of cost and time.
  • Develop concepts to suit the needs of the project.
  • Focus on developing innovative graphic ideas and be willing to research new ways of presenting content.
  • Work with a wide range of media including photography and computer-aided design (CAD)
  • Proofread to produce accurate and high-quality work.
  • Be aware of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs and software, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, etc.
  • Work as part of a team with the other members of the Creative Department to generate the best possible content church-wide.
  • Photograph and document Sunday services for the use of communications/social media.
  • Occasionally attend extra events for the purpose of photo opportunities and representations of the church.
  • Offer support and solutions for modifying/enhancing the NLC image and branding techniques.
  • Demonstrate ongoing financial support of the ministries of New Life Church.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and additional meetings when requested.
  • Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment among our staff and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the ministries and events of New Life Church.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design or Equivalent Experience

Experience: Demonstrated high-level skill and experience creating, supporting, and enhancing graphic designs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Possess firm knowledge of Adobe Photoshop Creative Suite and graphic design principles (Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Possess strong understanding of photography and photo editing.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of IE quirks and how to address them.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, execute plans, and achieve goals set by oversight.
  • Demonstrate strong creative skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Possess familiarity with Mac OS X, Unix, and Linux server administration.
  • Possess familiarity with basic office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Be self-motivated and able to work well independently and as well as in a team environment.
  • Possess ability to handle multiple tasks and to complete assignments with little guidance.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with ability to verbally communicate effectively and tactfully on all levels.
