If you're interested in becoming a critical part of an innovative company, you might be the full-time Accountant Robert Half is looking for. This is a new opportunity to join an established and very stable organization in the Watertown area, as their Accountant. This position is hands on, wear many hats accounting position where you will get to do a bit of everything in partnership with the VP Finance. You will contribute to all areas of the Finance department and play a key role in the preparation and evaluation of the financial statements of the company to assist management in making informed decisions. A successful candidate combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles and computer skills to analyze accounts, transactions, and financial reports. This would suit someone looking for a step up or someone who has several years of experience looking to work for a stable company.

Responsibilities include:
Participate in the month and year end closing processes and the preparation of internal financial reports for staff and the Board of Directors.
Make entries to ensure proper accounting of general ledger transactions.
Perform monthly financial statements variance analysis and account reconciliations.
Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules.
Assist all areas of the department in resolving issues.
Participate in 401k, financial and insurance audits.
Recommend actions to senior management by analyzing and interpreting data.
Maintain safe working environment by following company safety procedures.

Key requirements:
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus.
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases.
Someone who can pitch in and help VP Finance – wear many hats type.
Manufacturing a plus but not required.
BS Degree in Finance or related field
