AmeriCorps VISTA Wraparound Facilitator
SEEKING four (4) AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) Members to serve as Wraparound Facilitators to find ways to increase students’ educational success in Richmond County schools, Senior Citizens Council, Georgia Carolina Council, and other local non-profits.
United Way of the CSRA serves as the intermediary sponsor for AmeriCorps VISTA PROJECT UNITE, which seeks to support students identified by the schools as living in households below the poverty level, transitioning to the next grade level as unprepared, and/or where other barriers to success exist. Wraparound supports are required to support children struggling to overcome these barriers. The Wraparound Support Program facilitates partnerships between students, schools, families, and community stakeholders to enhance students’ socio-emotional well-being while assisting in their transition to post-secondary life. VISTAs provide indirect service support to:
VISTAs selected will participate in a VISTA Virtual Member Orientation (VMO) and begin a year of service on August 14, 2023. Other start dates are available and options will be discussed during the interview.
This is a volunteer position. However, VISTA members receive a bi-weekly cash living allowance stipend, 20 days of paid leave, access to health care coverage, childcare assistance if eligible and approved, and an end-of-service education award equal to the Pell Grant.
Requirements: AmeriCorps VISTA Wrap Around Facilitators must be 18 years of age. Be a U.S. Citizen, National, or Legal Resident. Able to commit and serve on a full-time basis for one (1) year. Valid Driver’s License with dependable transportation. Bachelor’s Degree preferred, some college required. Candidates must pass a criminal background check.
