The Medical Assistant (MA) works under the clinical supervision of the Wound Care Center Physician. The MA provides direct care for clinic patients with wounds, as well as general duties to assist professional staff. The MA may prepare patients for care, assist patients with limited mobility, as well as perform specific procedures with appropriate orientation and supervision. The medical assistant reports directly to the practice manager, RN supervisor, or Director.

• Completion of Medical Assistant Program - Accredited Required or
• Nursing Assistant Program - Accredited Required

• 1 year Ambulatory - Physician Practice Operations Preferred

• Outpatient Wound Care Clinic - 1 year in acute care experience - Preferred

• BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association Required
• Certified Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Assistants Preferred or
• CNA Certified Nursing Asst - California Department of Public Health - Professional Certification Branch Preferred

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point).
