Wrist Ship Supply, a world leader in the field of procuring and delivering supply to the maritime industry is looking for a Warehouse Assistant to join their ship supply division in Montreal.

Summary

The successful candidate for this role will most likely have prior experience in a warehouse environment, preferably from picking and packing goods in a retail or other warehouse environment and have a strong work ethic.

This role is an individual contributor role, reporting to a Warehouse Manager, Supervisor or Team leader.

Your primary responsibilities in this role will be:

• Follow the specific health and safety and operational procedures as outlined by manager
• Pick and pack goods from storage location according to the day plan's picking lists, or as instructed by Warehouse supervisors or managers
• Ensure the orders are complete and accurate, and with due attention to durability and expiry date.
• Pack, shrink wrap and stage orders correctly for delivery, according to local warehouse procedures
• Operates handling equipment and ensures safety regulations are followed
• Record and report any impaired or damaged storage items, according to local procedure
• All material handling must take place in accordance with all food safety rules (HACCP and other relevant standards). Particular attention to the cool chain
• Always keep the picking area clean and safe
• Participate in periodic stock counts, as instructed by Warehouse management
• Assist in packing outgoing trailers / trucks and other general warehouse work, when time permits

We are looking for a person with the below skill set:

• Service minded, understanding that this job is critical to customer satisfaction (last touch before departure)
• Flexible, accepting that plans may change at last minute due to a ship's changed schedule
• Good at prioritizing, executing duties in the most effective order.
• Confident in speaking, understanding, and writing in English

Your education and experience will include:

• Some practical warehouse experience is preferred
• Forklift Certificate is a bonus
• Dangerous goods certificate is a bonus
