(This is a salaried position - $56,166-84,249/yr DOE). The Receiving Supervisor is in charge of managing hourly personnel in the receiving department and is responsible for the off-loading and routing of freight deliveries for processing, maintenance and label departments; supervising, counting, and verifying the receipt of caps, corks, and other closures; ordering and maintaining supplies of tape and adhesives; compiling daily bottling efficiency reports; issuing purchase orders for plant maintenance; and working with AP to ensure timely payment of invoices.
- Supervises and directs hourly case house personnel to guarantee work is performed correctly and productively. Organizes work so production will continue without interruption and minimizes the rearranging of trailers to avoid double handling. Utilizes existing floor inventory to minimize partial pallets of empty glass. Sets up trailers for truck drivers so glass is available for second shift. Makes sure a supply of knockdowns are prepared for use by Bottling and Shipping when damage occurs.
- Enforces all OSHA and Company safety regulations and policies. Leads the safety program for the Materials department through the creation and execution of safe practices and operating procedures to reduce the occurrence and severity of workplace accidents. - Trains and Supervises case house employees to improve skills and performance. Evaluates employee performance and skill level to determine skill improvement needs and develops improvement plans to address. Create and develops a personal developmentplan with Materials Manager to improve a skill/competency that will
- Make sure adherence to all Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies and Practices. Oversee the receipt and unloading of various bottling materials including closures, labels, bottles, and adhesives and also supervise receipt of goods for other departments. Confirm accuracy of shipment against shipping documents as freight is unloaded and document and investigate discrepancies. Make sure information is recorded accurately in company systems to update inventory records.
- Meet internal and external customer requirements by ensuring that daily deliveries are verified, material inventory records are up to date and information is communicated in a timely manner to ensure no loss of production due to materials not received. Provide exceptional customer service by serving as a professional and friendly point of contact between vendors/truck drivers and the Barton 1792 Distillery.
- As needed when Materials Manager is not available, works with production scheduling and glass/PET vendors to schedule/release bottles for production. Adjust bottling schedules for each line each day. Maintains inventories of empty case goods and closures.
- Collect and enter data from bottling, shipping, and processing departments to create daily bottling efficiency report. Verify finished goods bottled and shipped daily as well as a month-to-date total for each. Prepare various month end reports inculding efficiency and loss time reports. Enter the receipt of closures, adhesives, tape and plant maintenance items into System 21 accurately and on a timely basis.
- Verify with total bottled and shipped numbers with government records each month and reconcile inventory totals. Manage recyclables including cardboard and plastic. Arrange for and supervise removal from the plant.
- Provides leadership to case house employees ina manner consistent with the culture of the company. Ensure employees are treated fairly and with respect. Creates a team environment when each employee is encouraged to make a difference.
