Parsons is now hiring for Office Engineers with focus on Structures, Civil, Roadway, Drainage to work on the California High Speed Rail CP-1 project. As an Office Engineer on the California High Speed Rail CP-1 project, you will be based out of our Fresno, CA project office and will be a key role in supporting the Design Leads and Managers to meet target deliverable dates.

The successful candidate will perform tasks related to office and field management. This position requires some design experience (construction experience is a plus), strong organizational and strong written/verbal communication skills. Primary responsibilities include supporting the design and construction leads with deliverables including but not limited to structures, civil, roadway, drainage, and utility design, schedules, change orders, letter writing, subcontractor coordination, field site visits and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Under general direction of the Design Lead/Manager, performs basic engineering tasks with an emphasis on project management, plan reviews, and other construction tasks.
  • Assists with contract administration through monitoring of correspondence, submittals, RFI’s, and performance records.
  • Completes a variety of assignments such as field installation observations, engineering, tracking contractor submittals and quality assurance.
  • Uses Microstation for development and review of design drawings.
  • Works closely with other Designers/Drafters/Construction Engineers to ensure design and construction is coordinated.
  • Reviews specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents and to ensure contractor is building in accordance with those referenced.
  • Coordinates with 3rd parties, attends & hosts meetings as necessary.
  • Develops/assists with obtaining quotes for change orders.
  • Prepares and reviews incoming and outgoing change orders.
  • Takes part in providing construction oversight, construction quality assurance and field engineering as necessary such as field visits and field oversight as necessary.
  • Works effectively and collaboratively with project team.
  • May participate in the bid evaluation and procurement process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution. Design and construction engineering experience is preferred.
  • AutoCAD or MicroStation experience is required.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, etc) is required; any scheduling experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Strong work ethic - Highly motivated and willing to do what it takes to get the job done right.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Salary Range:

$24.18 - $42.31
