We are a locally-owned and operated adventure tour company on Maui, HI searching for a dynamic, friendly, and dependable tour guide to join our team. The tour guide's primary responsibilities include ensuring that the guests are safe, comfortable, and having fun.
To ensure success as a tour guide, you should be excellent at customer service with a knack for storytelling, and easy-going with high level of professionalism and approachability. An outstanding tour guide will know how to best customize each tour to best fit the adventure needs of each guest—while expertly operating the Jeep providing guests confidence in their safety.
Tour Guide Responsibilities:
- Drive the Jeep allowing guests to comfortably sightsee during a private tour experience.
- Represent the values and attributes espoused by Hoaloha Jeep Adventures within the island community and fellow tour guides.
- Maintain positive relations with community members, government officials, and state/county park employees.
- Safely drive and maintain a vehicle before, during, and after each tour.
- Plan alternate activities in the event that road closures or weather prohibit you from attending scheduled stops.
- Educate guests about Hawaiian culture, history, and geology—primarily focusing on the island of Maui.
- Encourage guests to be safe and avoid potentially dangerous areas and activities.
Tour Guide Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience as a tour guide is advantageous.
- Clean driving record.
- Current Drivers License
- Be able to work independently and handle mishaps on the road
- Passionate about Hawaiian culture and history
- Excellent conversational skills with a knack for storytelling.
- Personable, humorous disposition.
- Outstanding organizational, time management, and improvisational skills.
- Ability to work weekdays, weekends, and some holidays.
Full-time and part-time positions available. Salary based upon experience.
