Job Description
We are hiring a Technician for an opportunity with a large automotive manufacturer. You will be a part of a team in support of the building of prototype electrical and/or autonomous vehicles. If you have strong electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical skills in building, diagnosis and troubleshooting, and you have a passion for sustainable electric and/or cutting edge vehicle technology, this job is for you.
DUTIES:
You will be assigned to assemble and support testing of prototype vehicles from the ground up, starting from the frame rails. They may be bolting on brackets, installing wiring and cabling, or working with engineers to problem solve, troubleshoot, etc. By the end of every day, they should be able to see advancement in their respective builds. The environment is a shop, where they will be working onsite with a collaborative team of engineers and technicians.
Other Job Responsibilities may include:
- Assist and perform vehicle build activities
- Check and verify operation of the electric and mechanical systems installed to the vehicles
- Assist in troubleshooting of any issues found
- Build, modify, fix mechanical, pneumatic, electrical systems
- Help troubleshoot any issues seen in the vehicle during verification
- Support issue resolution in conjunction with the rest of the team
- Document any issues found and the steps taken to resolve the same
- Discuss and present any electrical and mechanical issues found during the entire lifecycle of the vehicle
- Create/modify/maintain wiring harnesses and test the connections as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 2 years, preferably 5+, of professional experience as an Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive, or similar Technician reading blueprints/schematics, using a variety of mechanical and electrical tools, building some sort of complex product or equipment, and working through diagnosing and troubleshooting systems
- AS degree in Electronics, Manufacturing or Mechanical Technology, Automotive Technology is helpful; Military training programs also provide the correct level of technical competency
- Light fabrication and machining experience is helpful, but not required
- Must have some sort of professional or hobby-based automotive experience (working in a shop as a mechanic, on cars at home, on military vehicles, etc) so as to understand general vehicle systems and shop terminology

Pay: $34.00 - $38.00 per hour
