Job Description


Core Lines team is seeking a Principal Technical Writer to powerfully translate technical content into interesting, actionable, and engaging material for the insurance industry. This role is a foundational part of Verisk’s significant focus on maintaining an ongoing dialogue with the current and prospective customers at various organizational levels, and with the industry-at-large.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate technical content in a way that is engaging, easily understood, frequent, and accessible to the industry
  • Develop written communication regarding recent regulatory filings, major updates and emerging risk facing our industry, for all levels and disciplines from across the industry
  • Strategically and proactively develop content that can be attributed to or shared by key stakeholders via multiple content channels
  • Collaborate closely with product and marketing to develop a creative and customer-driven content strategy
  • Involvement in ongoing campaigns, customer outreach and media opportunities

Qualifications


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent/related work experience
  • Experience working with insurance content
  • An innovative mindset, open to new ideas and challenges
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with internal staff and external stakeholders
  • Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving and collaboration skills
  • Strong working knowledge of content dissemination

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with ISO core lines data
  • Previous journalist experience at an insurance industry trade publication a plus.
  • Experience in communicating value proposition and positioning
