Since 1993, T2 Utility Engineers has provided professional surveying and mapping for acquisition and mapping of 3-dimensional spatial data in support of plans and preparation for construction of roadways, subsurface infrastructure, commercial and private land developments. Using advanced technologies including GPS, laser and LiDAR scanning, MCGPR, UAS (drones), our team of field technicians, surveyors, and engineers capture quality data and provide professional insight to help our clients visualize, plan and design their projects. Our mission is to provide project stakeholders with quality information, professional insight and deliverables that streamline construction, improve project safety and set the standard for the engineering industry.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Mastery of survey equipment use and calibration including total stations, data collection devices, GPS equipment and digital/automatic levels, terrestrial LiDAR
  • Comprehend and interpret site, boundary, highway and utility plans, maps and surveys, profile and cross-sections, horizontal and vertical curves and contours, atlases and record drawings
  • Perform survey calculations, including level note reductions, angle and coordinate geometry
  • Supervise daily survey crew activities
  • Represent and communicate on behalf of T2ue with client, subcontractors, and third parties during field activities
  • Facilitate Daily Tailgate Safety Meetings
  • Perform Daily Job Hazard Analysis with crew members
  • Direct safety set-up and flagging operations for proper maintenance of traffic signage
  • Train other crew members
  • Effective maintenance, cleaning, and operation of vehicles, equipment, tools and supplies
  • Assist with daily vehicle pre-checks and completion of truck sheets
  • Complete monthly survey equipment inventory for Supervisor reorder
  • Load and unload survey equipment and supplies
  • Set up survey tri-pods to provide backsite and foresight operations
  • Cutting line
  • Support Subsurface Utility Engineering services as required
  • Other duties as required

Tech III Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • 1-3 years of experience as a Survey Field Tech II or a Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, by company vehicle or commercial airline, up to 2 week continuous stay.
  • Outdoor work in all climates
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical (U.S. only)
  • Ability to stand and walk on smooth and uneven terrain for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical activities to include bending, squatting, etc. related to carrying and operating survey equipment and other tools
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
