Title: Special Events & Marketing Intern-Notre’ Dame

Position Status: Seasonal

Hours/Dates: June 6th through July 29th

FLSA: Non-Exempt (hourly) 28 hours per week, M-Th, 10-5pm

with a 30-minute paid lunch break

Department: Development

Reports To: Sr. Development Manager-Major Gifts & Sr. Manager- Retail Partnerships and Partners Card

The Family Place has a great opportunity for a Special Events and Marketing Intern for our Development Program!

About The Family Place: The Family Place empowers victims of family violence by providing safe housing, counseling and skills that create independence while building community engagement and advocating for social change to stop family violence. The Family Place is here to help victims of domestic violence become survivors. Our staff and the services we offer empower victims of family violence to lead lives free from abuse. Our fully comprehensive services are free and are provided in English and Spanish.

Position Description: The Special Events and Marketing Intern will get hands on experience with development work in a non-profit setting, including but not limited to fundraising, marketing, social media project planning, volunteering and program/special event management.

Special Events:

  • Help coordinate and project plan for Partners Card
  • Edit various Partners Card collateral pieces
  • Assist in the post-event wrap-up of the Young Partners Sneaker Soiree
  • Assist in other special events planning as required

Client Services:

  • Assist the Volunteer and In-Kind Donations Manager with volunteer activities as needed

Marketing and Social Media:

  • Assist in creating email and social media campaigns for The Family Place Resale Store to raise funds and build constituency.
  • Provide recommendations regarding e-marketing ideas to increase visits to website and social media outlets about our services.

  • Assist with timelines and implementation of our donor touch point plan.


Requirements:

  • Current, full-time undergraduate student
  • Major or minor in communications, marketing, public relations and non-profit management
  • Attendance at all required events, training and meetings

Details on weekly hours and hourly rate:

  • Start date: June 5th through July 28th, 2023
  • Monday-Thursday, 30 hours per week
  • 10:00am-5:00pm (with flexibility)
  • 30-minute paid lunch
  • $15 per hour
