Job Description

We are looking for a variety of Special Education Paraprofessionals across Minnesota.

Zen Educate is looking for educators who are passionate about teaching and positively contributing to the lives of children in special education. Special Education Paraprofessionals will support licensed teachers with academic adaptations, self-care and social/behavioral needs.

Key Duties:

  • Assisting licensed staff in the classroom
  • Aid students in meeting their individualized education plan (IEP)
  • Maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning
  • Works with individuals and/or small groups when activities and assignments are presented by mainstream teachers and/or special education teachers
  • Provides support for students in crisis
  • Maintaining a safe learning environment
  • Utilize a variety of learning methods to enhance the students’ learning experiences and support them as needed

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or ParaPro Assessment

Preferred Requirements:

  • Special Education Teaching License (especially from MN)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • ParaPro Certification or similar
  • Past work experience in a school with children with special needs
  • Ability to obtain PCA certification from the Department of Human Services

Pay:

  • Paraprofessional pay will reflect qualifications and experience level.
  • Weekly pay
