Position Description:

NS2 Mission is currently seeking an Expert Software Developer to join our team in Chantilly, VA.

The candidate will have the ability to understand, develop, automate, and enhance all parts of the data pipeline: ingestion, processing, storage, and exposing data for consumption to multiple stakeholders. This position further requires working with various mission stakeholders, communicating system features and concepts to other users and developers, and interacting with program management. Additional responsibilities include assisting other developers, debugging various development and O&M processes, and system documentation.

Position Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related or an additional 6 years of experience in lieu of degree
• Minimum of 12 years of experience with software development
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on Java development experience
• Experience with using Java to ETL data
• Knowledge of build tools, such as Maven or Gradle
• Experience with ETL: data formats like XML, JSON, and YML
• Experience with normalizing data and high-volume data ingestion
• Understanding of relational databases: Experience with writing SQL for MySQL or Oracle
• Experience with designing database schemas
• Basic knowledge of Linux

Desired Qualifications:

• Understands fundamentals such as: S3, including knowledge of bucket policies, VPC configuration, Security group configuration, EC2 setup and configuration
• Understanding of REST services and HTTP
• Experience with DevOps using tools like Jenkins
• Experience with PKI including creating and deploying certificates
• Understanding NodeJS
• Experience developing middle tier software using Spring Boot
• Experience with Amazon AWS Java API
• Experience with building web services using Node JS
• Experience with Typescript
• Experience with shell scripting
• Knowledge of basic Linux administration, such as creating users and security groups
• Experience with AWS/C2S DevOps tools like Cloud Formation
• Understanding of EMR in C2S/AWS
• Experience with writing web applications
