Computer World Services, Corporation (CWS) is seeking an exceptional candidate to serve as Solutions Architect - Oracle for The United States Secret Services (USSS), Officer of the Chief Information Officer, Software Solutions (S2) Division responsible for building and maintaining custom application projects, databases and reporting capabilities allowing the agency to complete both its protective and investigative mission. The S2 program builds custom software using the latest technologies from Microsoft, Oracle, Tableau, IBM Cognos, Data Warehouse and ESRI Geographic Information System (GIS).

The Oracle Solutions Architect will be responsible for providing operational support and maintenance to meet all requirements of data services at the USSS. The candidate will also facilitate the implementation of existing strategies for enterprise-level data services and provide continued support for the current database infrastructure and environments. Critical success factors are directly related to the success of implementing the data services strategy.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Assist the organization in understanding the importance of data and how to effectively utilize all aspects of data to gain operational knowledge.
  • Provide the ability to sustain the current enterprise-level database architectures and provide direction on new innovative RDBMS trends and techniques.
  • Produce solutions that assist the organization with understanding transactional and warehouse data that can impact the organization’s decision-making process.
  • Assist key USSS stakeholders in defining the benefits and key measures that data provides.
  • Provide capabilities to support the current Data Lake architecture that is utilizing container virtualization of various microservices.
  • Provide capabilities to support the current USSS Business Intelligence (BI) environment and insert new processes that transform raw data into meaningful information that can support data-driven decision making throughout the organization.
  • Support an enterprise-level ETL solution that consolidates data from many different data sources into an operational data store, data warehouse or data lake.
  • Provide Data Services Administrator training and mentorship. Establish a database environment for training that is separate from production.
  • Implement pre-deployment, deployment, and post-deployment tasks to successfully migrate databases, database objects, ETL mappings, BI reports from the Dev/Test environments to production. These migration activities shall be monitored by the Contractor Technical Project Manager, Federal Manager and Data Service Administrators.

Job Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • BS preferred from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 7 years related experience
  • In-depth technical knowledge on potential Oracle database administration operational issues, hands-on Linux administration, database installation, enterprise database monitoring, configuring, and troubleshooting production database infrastructure issues.
  • Experience in deploying, upgrading, and operating Oracle Multi-tenant database environments on Red Hat Linux servers.

Certifications

Relevant certifications may include:

  • Oracle Database Administrator Certified Associate (OCA)
  • Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional (OCP)
  • Oracle Database Administrator Certified Master (OCM)
  • Oracle Certified Expert

Security Clearance

  • US Citizenship is required
  • Candidates shall undergo a favorable Suitability Assessment as determined by the US Secret Service’s Security Clearance Division’s Clearance and Access Branch (SCD-CAB)
  • Candidates who provide support in Moderate or High positions must have undergone a minimum of a Tier 4a/BI (Background Investigation) level background investigation within the last 5 years; or otherwise be the subject of a favorable US Secret Service controlled Tier 4a/BI background investigation

  • Limited travel to company office locations and travel outside of the Washington, DC, area is not anticipated; but may be necessary over the life of the contract.
