Overview:
Fairview Health Services is looking for a Service and Product Assistant at the University of MN Health Clinics and Surgery Center in Minneapolis, MN. This position works 80 hours per two weeks pay period on the Day shift. This position is eligible for benefits. 5a-1.30p

The SPA position has the responsibility of distributing and delivering materials, supplies and equipment as well as loading/unloading and packing/unpacking materials, supplies and equipment. It will also include the cleaning of Medical equipment.
Responsibilities/Job Description:
  • Receive, deliver, replenish, clean and maintain supplies/equipment/linen/forms including: stat room, patient rooms, inventory locations, and other areas, as appropriate.
  • Assist with maintaining adequate inventory levels of equipment and supplies.
  • Understanding of inventory control concepts with the ability to calculate par levels and adjust levels as necessary.
  • Coordinate the delivery of items arriving at the dock.
  • Assemble, apply/remove, and properly tag/transmit, and log into computer.
  • Assure that excess inventory in totes is accounted for, documented, and properly routed.
  • Perform gross decontamination of instruments, clean, rinse, and properly route utensils.
  • Decontaminate and clean patient care equipment such as, but not limited to: IV pumps' sequential compression devices; syringe pumps, warmers, respiratory care equipment, blood pressure apparatus, walkers, commodes, orthopedic apparatus, case carts, etc.
  • Answer telephones as needed.
  • Other duties as requested and required
Qualifications:
  • 6 months comparable materials or related experience and/or extensive knowledge of medical hardware/software and medical supplies through formal education channels
  • Independent use of computers including data entry
  • Must have the ability to bend, reach, stand and lift a maximum of 75 pounds

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1+ years of comparable experience. Vocational or Technical Training, Associates Degree
  • 1-3 years health care related experience, extensive knowledge of medical hardware/software, medical supplies through formal education channels
