Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the technical leadership and end-to-end development of data solutions including designing and creating data pipelines, data quality/ validation checks in Spark/Scala jobs while leveraging large, complex data sources.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and subject-matter experts to drive project plans, release and comprehensive application of automation deployment and smooth operation.
  • Participate in regular design and development planning sessions and evaluating both existing and emerging technologies, delivering POCs (Proof of Concepts) and evaluating needs for service modernization and enhancements.
  • Tuning Spark jobs, identify bottlenecks and understand scalability requirements to handle large data volumes.
  • Leads by example by producing extensible and maintainable code with appropriate design patterns and best practices to guarantee quality along with documentation for all produced code.
  • Mentor team members, pair program, participate in code reviews, and delegate work to encourage professional and technical growth of those around you.
  • Maintain operation of live services as issues arise on a rotational, on-call basis.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years’ experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering work
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ Years of experience with big data ETL(Extract, Transform, and Load)pipeline development with Spark, Scala, or related technologies.

Other Requirements
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications
  • 6+ years’ experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering work
  • 4+ years of experience with big data ETL(Extract, Transform, and Load) pipeline development with Spark, Scala, or related technologies.
  • 2+ years of experience with software engineering experience shipping production apps or services using SQL Server and Azure SQL DB (Structured Query Language)
  • 1+ years of experience in building financial system is a plus.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
