The Subramanian group is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Research Associate 2 to provide oversight and maintenance of vivarium activities, and participate in lab activities.

Responsibilities

• Manages vivarium activities, including breeding, tagging, general husbandry, and maintaining animal inventory
• Ensures smooth operation of the lab
• Ensures all lab facilities, tools, and equipment are properly maintained
• Executes all daily lab procedures
• Stocks and maintains inventory
• Maintains policies and procedures for the lab's equipment, resources, and scheduling
• Carries out experiments according to the specifications; records and reports data
• Maintains knowledge of scientific techniques, specialized equipment, computer software, computer hardware, and other relevant scientific resources in their subject area
• Provides training and/or guidance on instrumentation and lab procedures
• Works closely with scientists and faculty to ensure high-quality results

Qualifications:

BS or higher degree in any biological discipline with previous research associate experience in an academic laboratory and in conducting animal studies preferably in the context of immunology. Knowledge, training, or experience in immunology is preferred. Two (2) or more years of prior experience in animal management, inventory management, scientific processes, troubleshooting, and basic administrative procedures or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Must have good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills; able to work independently and also effectively with a variety of people in a diverse workforce; adaptable to changing work requirements; high degree of professional integrity; high motivation and strong lab service orientation.

Pay Range:

$22.45 - $35.47 per hour
