Responsibilities:
The Role:
As an Embedded Product Planning Sr Manager in the Adaptive and Embedded Computing Group (AECG), you will be responsible for aligning the requirements for new silicon leveraging AMD technology targeted at embedded customers in the wired, wireless, storage, automotive and related segments. This is a cross functional role that will involve heavy interaction with sales, architect, engineering, and segment product management.

You will be responsible for validating market opportunities and requirements with key customers and segment marketing teams. Working with various architecture and engineering teams you will refine requirements to meet the product, development cost and schedules needed to introduce new competitive products. You will present the business case for new products to senior management to approve based on the expected return on investment, strategic objectives, and tradeoffs verse other product opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Working with market segment leads to scope the SAM and achievable SOM for products with different mixes of features to forecast revenue for product concepts.
  • Refine product concepts by managing specification tradeoffs with architecture and engineering.
  • Identify new capabilities of feature that will be needed for multiple generations of products to justify internal development.
  • Manage the process to refine a product concept into a defined, scoped, and senior management approved product addition to the roadmap.
  • Filing Product Requests and Product Change Requests as silicon development progresses.
Job Requirements:
  • 5+ years of industry experience in product development, product management, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working on data center projects.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to work with internal and customer cross functional teams.
  • Self-starter able to build relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Must understand data center products, board hardware design requirements and programable logic devices.
