Job Description

Company Description

FKA applies the ‘formerly known’ to an industry and way of working that needs to be reinvented. Working at the pace of culture, we create modern brand experiences for those that are poised to make their boldest moves yet. Our integrated Social + CRM approach is the accelerant that blends culture with consumer connectivity, closing the gap to build loyal followings. FKA’s proprietary loyalty/relationship index fuels clients with insights about their consumers, sharing the “why,” and not only the "what.”

With nearly half of the FKA staff consisting of people of color—and founded and led by women—we represent today’s customer, not just from a plethora of research and data but by personal experiences. FKA partners with brands like Verizon, Pop-Tarts, MAC, Audi, Taco Bell, JIF, MeowMix, and others who are ready to simplify the chaos and imagine what’s next.

Job Description

FKA is seeking a conceptual Senior Copywriter with expertise in beauty, specifically cosmetics, for an immediate freelance opportunity.

As a Senior Copywriter at FKA, you’ll create persuasive and compelling copy in the established voice and style of the brand. You can work across different mediums, from artfully crafted manifestos to clearly articulated idea writeups to snappy text-only tweets. You are detail-oriented and have strong opinions about the use of oxford commas. In this role, you’ll report to the Creative Director and work with a leading cosmetic brand. The digital and social media space will be your primary focus. Managing your workload independently to meet deadlines are a must. If this sounds like you, we’d love to talk.

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute concepts for organic social and digital branding campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Art Directors, Designers, and Strategy to deliver concepts that are on-strategy and on-brand.
  • Persuasively present both internally and to clients with credibility, reasoning, and emotion.
  • Actively listen to truly understand the ask, client feedback, and internal feedback.
  • Deliver fresh ideas while working with existing brand voice and tone.
  • Have a clear understanding of messaging hierarchy.

Qualifications
  • You have 5+ years of experience as integrated marketing copywriter at a marketing or advertising agency.
  • You have a wide-ranging portfolio that showcases your conceptual thinking across multiple channels with a focus on digital and organic social campaigns for cosmetics brands.
  • Excellent conceptual and analytical skills.
  • Good team player, collaborator, communicator, and presenter.
  • Takes constructive criticism.
