The role
The Regulatory and Quality Control Specialist will support the delivery of 14 CFR part 142 Training Operations, including compliance programs deployed to ensure training activities are delivered in accordance with established company policies and procedures and FAA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day training delivery activities.
- Assist in the coordination of training operations [admin, sked, training del, sim] including participating in and leading cross-departmental meetings.
- Actively support cross-departmental work towards problem-solving and continuous process improvements.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage, organize, and direct projects as assigned to ensure on-time completion by stakeholders.
- Direct and organize required training operations' Safety Management System (SMS) audits and continuously review any post-implementation measures.
- Recommend and implement corrective actions to mitigate non-compliance of policies, procedures, orders, and regulations.
- Serve as a subject matter resource on policies, procedures, FAA Orders, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide general compliance guidance to internal functions.
- Assist in the distribution of internal and external regulatory compliance communications.
- Assist in the coordination of regulatory compliance responses to internal and external customers.
- Support obtaining regulatory approvals, exemptions, and deviations in support of Training Operations Initiatives.
- Receive, catalog, evaluate and track applicable regulatory directives (FARs, ACs, FAA Orders, SAFOs, INFOs, and NPRMs) and provide recommendations to training operations leaders.
- Coordinate posting of the ATP Jets Training Specifications.
- Support regulatory audits.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external stakeholders, escalating issues to leadership as needed.
- Oversee onboarding and training of initial new hire instructors.
- Oversee recurrent instructor training.
- Oversee and maintain instructor training records.
- Conduct final review and approval of instructor invoices.
- Review simulator-use feedback reports and disseminate to stakeholders
- Review student feedback reports on training delivery and notify leadership of any issues
- Coordinate and assign SMS audits as necessary
- Distribute positive feedback to leadership and instructor cadre
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management or equivalent level of experience in an aviation-related field, as determined by the hiring manager.
- Advanced skills using Cloud-based applications.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proven problem-solving skills.
- Previous piloting experience, ideally on turbojet aircraft
- Previous flight training experience, ideally under 14 CFR part 142
- Experience working with regulatory authorities, ideally under 14 CFR part 142
