Quality Control Technician – Bushnell, IL

This is a full time, non-exempt, 2nd shift position.
The Quality Control position is responsible for sampling and running tests on the product to ensure that it meets customer specifications.
Essential Job Functions:
- Performs tests on product from the oven, packing line, blower trucks and railcars.
- Records information in Total Lab Client Program (TLC)
- Inspects product on start-ups, shutdowns and during problems at extruders.
- Inspects oven leg magnet
- Inspects and records in TLC any magnet samples or flour samples turned in by employees.
- Prepares textured vegetable protein (TVP) formulation reports and sterile sample bags
- Completes lab dailies from checklist
- Follows all safety, GMP, plant rules and policies
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Plant Manager
Education/Training:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
