Description:
The QA Lab Technician will be spending 75% of their time on the floor checking samples, and the other 25% in the lab processing the samples. In the lab, they will be running pH, viscosity, density, allergen testing, and solids tests. They will be working in a software system specific to the company called Red Zone. The Red Zone program gives the candidate utilizing the tablet step by step directions for what to do for each test. They have also introduced paper documentation, so it would be a 50/50 between paper documentaiton and Red Zone.
There are a few buckets.
1. One lab supporting analytical testing and approval of recipe blends, analysis of finished product testing, recurrent ones are fill volumes, fill waters, densities, pH, viscosity, total solids, and proteins. The analytical piece is straightforward with good equipment.
2. Other lab supporting blending, thermal processing, filling, and downline packaging. Doing quality checks on the packaging integrity for it to be an aseptic product. Important that the package is properly sealed.
Two primary softwares for data capture: electomica system similar to SAP and Red Zone which is a manufacturing industry IPad with real time feedback. Must be comfortable using tablets.
