Job Description
We are currently seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering daily purchasing duties and providing support to the Purchasing Specialists and Purchasing Supervisor.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers/vendors
- Generate and distribute purchase order related documentation
- Interpret and communicate purchasing procedures to departments; assist departments in initiating requisitions and orders, and resolve problems with orders
- Provide daily pricing and inventory reports to Sales team
- Quality Control purchase order submissions once secured by Purchasing Specialist
- Handle daily sales support inquiries
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Sales and/or Customer Service experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to exercise sound, independent judgment
- Knowledge of materials, products, and the commodity market in area of specialization
- Excellent telephone etiquette
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
