The Senior Manager Pricing Product leads strategic pricing products with enterprise impact. Acts as a trusted advisor and strategic partnership to Optum leadership. Responsible for the pricing product management strategy, execution/delivery methodology, and realizing business benefits across the Industry and Network Relations Portfolio. This role is accountable for creating/evolving and executing strategic pricing product improvements and enhancements, visibility into operational execution, and overseeing the needed analytics to drive improved results for our clients and consumers.
The position can be a remote position, but flexibility in location exists for the stellar candidate who is willing to travel approximately 10 % of the time.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead cross-functional teams of SMEs in the improvement, development, and management of highly complex pricing products and strategies and ultimate sale and operationalization of these enterprise-level strategies
  • The Industry and Network Relations organization is responsible for over $1.5B of retail margin and over $20B of annual gross rebates. These initiatives will ensure the organization is forward-thinking and innovative in pricing solutions to continue to drive value to retain and win business and hit Optum financial targets
  • Provide strategic guidance for new pricing strategies that impact not only Industry and Network Relations, but the broader Optum organization
  • Develop and execute business cases of systems and process enhancements needed for new pricing strategies
  • Translate new pricing strategies actionable plans and oversee execution and adoption of the plan
  • Ability to accomplish work through others
  • Ability to report out to leadership in a meaningful way
  • Direct cross-functional teams while fostering relationships with matrix stakeholders, ensuring commitment and support to solve complex business opportunities
  • Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
  • Works closely with the company’s executive leaders to identify new pricing opportunities and provide a strategic road map of programs for implementation across the organization
  • Innovative thinking within process and system design
  • This role requires significant cross-organizational partnership and the ability to influence change across OptumRx teams

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
  • 7+ years of direct product management and/or product development experience including exposure to at least three (3) of the following areas:
    • PBM pricing
    • Healthcare pricing
    • Process Improvement/transformation
    • Performing business/financial analysis
    • External consulting/auditing/risk analysis
    • Healthcare and managed care experience
    • Customer journey/experience
    • Organizational change management
    • IT solution/architecture
  • 2+ years of project management experience, including multi-phase, large-scale change projects
  • Experience successfully building, scaling and continuously evolving products
  • Experience developing strategic plans and accomplishing work thru others
  • Proven track record of managing large scale, complex projects and collaborating effectively cross-functionally
  • Proven strategic thinking and planning skills, combined with ability to create and execute corresponding operational plans
  • Proven ability to create structure, clarity and effective project plans, when faced with ambiguity and complexity
  • Proven ability to develop effective partnerships and networks, collaborating and influencing broadly and at multiple levels in the organization

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
