Job Summary
The Transmission Line Practice Manager is responsible leading the Transmission Line, GIS, and Right-of-Way business lines. They will develop and execute plans to align our business goals with the market and growth of the Practice. This includes building core capabilities within their responsible area, developing solutions for client pains, and ensuring high quality delivery of projects to our clients. They will provide leadership and direction to their direct reports and ensure that all projects meet their Cost, Quality, and Timing metrics. This role is primarily client facing to ensure the timely delivery of innovative solutions while keeping abreast of market and technology trends in the industry. In addition, this role is central to identifying and developing resources in the Practice to ensure a high level of expertise, performance, and client focus to stay ahead of the competition. Success in this role requires proven technical expertise combined with business acumen, advanced people and team-building skills, and a consulting mindset to deliver technical and business solutions that align with the vision of being a ‘partner of choice’.
Qualifications
· At least 10 years' experience in managing large Transmission Line projects in engineering services firms for large utilities and working knowledge of GIS applications and/or Right of Way/Outreach/siting and at least 10 years' experience working as an engineer on Transmission Line projects
· Experience in managing operations of $10-$20M a must---or at least an organization of 60-100 people
· A ‘Seller/Doer’ – maintain balance between generating billable work from clients with the need to drive prospective business development activities
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering required; advanced degree and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) license is a plus. Professional Engineering (PE) and the ability to take Responsible Charge is required.
