Job Description
The Manager Health Plans is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the entire Project Management Team for the Health Plan. The manager determines user demands, establishes work priorities, and plans, directs and monitors project work. Maintains project issues and reports to the Director on progress of critical path items. The Manager Health Plans will gather and evaluate information concerning the business needs and coordinates the project management team to ensure thorough oversight of all initiatives to execution. The Manager will ensure that roadblocks are removed and decisions made related to various tasks associated to projects. Status reports of all active projects will be reported to the Director and Senior Leadership as required.
- Provides leadership, development, and performance outcomes of the associates in the areas of responsibility
- Excellent interpersonal skills with regular interaction and communication with members of the Senior Leadership Team and other associates within the organization
- Ability to resolve or facilitate the resolution of issues and concerns that create barriers to a high performing team and work environment
- Expertise in establishing schedules for achieving project goals and objectives; and reviews work products, makes corrections and coordinates staff training and development efforts
- Oversees assigned projects including monitoring project and budgetary performance to present to leadership
- Serves as Project Manager on major complex initiatives that impact multiple business areas to ensure desired outcome for the Health Plan
- Develops relationships with business and IM departments for the team based on industry knowledge to ensure engagement to support critical initiatives for the Health Plan goal
- Ability to work with technical experts to develop requirements for project plans associated to system-related implementations
- Serves as subject matter expert for the team related to resource engagement for projects
- Communicates and collaborates with team and customers to analyze and transform needs into project tasks and ensure the delivery/tracking of documentation for the various projects
- Works with project management team to assess and document defined needs related to implementations to provide recommendations to operational leaders
- Ability to interpret regulatory changes affecting business operations to ensure required modifications are accounted for with the project(s) supported by the team
- Provides leadership and coordination to various technical personnel engaged in specified project activities, as appropriate
- High School required with 5 years of management experience.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
