A Payroll Administrator position is open at Robert Half. The Payroll Administrator will process payroll and should have proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. What you get to do every day
- Determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments
- Promote employee confidence by protecting payroll operations and keeping information confidential
- Manage other tasks as assigned
- Provide help with all internal and external audits of payroll
- Payroll information management via collecting, calculating, and entering data
- Preparing relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports for circulation to department heads
- Handle payroll discrepancies through information collection and analysis
- Providing payroll information by answering questions and requests
- Offer proper review and verification of source documents
- Facilitate company compliance according to federal and state regulations and guidelines
- Report changes where necessary after maintaining payroll operations via company policies and procedures
- Reconciling of employee deductions and other liabilities
- Produce reports after compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
- Updating payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfer
- Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
- 3+ years of payroll experience
- Microsoft Excel experience required
- Full Cycle Payroll experience
- Solid understanding of Multi-state Payroll
- Prior experience working with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, accounts payable, etc.
- Mastery of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
- Experience using accounting software
- Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required
- Understanding of internal controls
