Description

Performs technical work in the production of video and audio presentations. Position requires initiative and ability to work independently at various hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as assigned.

Works under the general supervision of a Senior Media Specialist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs a variety of complex functions, which include assisting video production activities; performing basic multi-camera set up and switching; performing digital editing and field video camera operations, and performing other related activities

Advancing video project from concept to completion which includes conducting field interviews and creating finished video packages, and/or performing other related activities

Performing a variety of field and studio activities which include set up and adjustment of cameras, lighting equipment, microphones and other audio equipment of various field or remote productions

Participates in video coverage of meetings and/or other related groups.

Ability to compose professional quality photos of specific locations, events, or people. Ability to edit existing photos.

Performs all duties in strict compliance with appropriate safety and security standards. Ensures all applicable safety and health rules and regulations are followed. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times and streamline work processes

Participates in the accomplishment of organizational, departmental and workgroup goals and objectives. Exhibits a high-level service orientation toward customers and maintains productive working relationships

Performs other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned

PERIPHERAL DUTIES:
Serves on various employee or other committees as assigned

Desired Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• 
  High school graduate or GED.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of Video, photography, and editing, multi-source audio in studio and remote production, Current industry equipment standards in videography, editing, audio and lighting, Video compression and encoding
• Skilled in using a computer and related software applications, using digital editing software programs, Adobe Creative Cloud, operating digital video photography equipment
• Ability to Set up and operate audio in studio, field, and remote settings, set up basic lighting for field, remote or studio tapings; effectively meet and deal with the public, ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge in various social media platforms.

Video and Audio equipment, computer used for a variety of tasks including video editing, updating of community calendar, etc.
