Serves as a working supervisor for a Federal Government household goods transportation operation.

Duties (a well qualified candidates resume will include examples of these experiences)
  • Passes on to the other workers instructions received from the supervisor, demonstrates proper work methods and starts work.
  • Performs inspection of packing, crating, loading, unloading, storing, and handling procedures of contract personnel to insure adequate measures are taken to avoid damage to property and that contract/regulatory requirements are met.
  • Works along with the employees and sets the pace, performing the same kind and level as that done by the employees led.
  • Inspects contractors' work at owners' residences during pick up and delivery.
  • Inspects contractor warehouses and facilities on a quarterly basis to determine storage methods are proper; adequate protection is provided against fire, flooding, insects, vermin and fungus.
  • Insures that inventory is complete and report on damage and missing items is accurate.
  • Prepares daily schedule of inspections. Prepares reports of findings and requests action, such as photographing goods or re-weighing shipment to support findings.
  • Notes workmanship, neatness and courtesy of contractor.
  • Assists service member in initiating claims procedures.
  • Performs follow-up inspections, provides necessary back-up documentation, and orients service member as to point of contact at JAG for claims processing.
  • Maintains miscellaneous records and reports on shipments, shipment schedules, and loss and damage.
