Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
This position is located in Rockville, MD at The Universities at Shady Grove (USG). The Coordinator, Career Readiness Operations will serve as a campus ambassador for career readiness and provide direct support to students in the area of career development coaching across all competencies, as well as coaching on success plan development. The Coordinator will collaborate with the Manager, Career Readiness Operations to develop and implement programming and events around USG’s new career readiness framework; develop and manage career competency assessments; oversee technology aspects for Hire U operations, including the Hire U presence on social media, and manage scheduling and delivery of on-going awareness and technical training for students, staff, and faculty. The position will advise, coordinate and manage the Hire U Honor Society and peer leaders and provide guidance for the members about their roles and responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:
Minimum of two years of related experience.
Including experience in project management and the use of technology tools.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex multi-institutional student services environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with a variety of constituencies including USM institutions, community colleges, and professional and community organizations in the USG service region.
  • Ability to manage a variety of projects with initiative.
  • Ability to be creative and introduce fun into programming and activities and to motivate others.
  • Skilled in Interpersonal communications and written communications

  • Ability to work some evening and occasional Saturday hours also required.
