Position: Certified Nursing Assistant

Position Overview:
A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a vital role in providing direct care and support to patients in healthcare settings, such as hospitals, nursing homes, and long-term care facilities. CNAs work under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) or licensed practical nurses (LPNs) to assist with daily activities and ensure the comfort and well-being of patients.
Responsibilities:
Patient care and support: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming. Help patients with mobility and transfers, repositioning in beds or chairs, and walking. Provide assistance with eating and drinking, and monitor and record food and fluid intake.
Vital sign monitoring: Measure and record vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiratory rate. Report any significant changes or abnormalities to the healthcare team.
Patient documentation: Document and maintain accurate records of patient care activities, including ADL assistance, vital sign measurements, intake and output, and other relevant observations. Use electronic medical record systems or paper-based documentation as required.
Assistance with medical procedures: Assist healthcare professionals with various medical procedures, such as wound care, specimen collection, catheter care, and simple dressing changes. Follow established protocols and guidelines to ensure patient safety and infection control.
Patient communication and support: Communicate effectively with patients, providing emotional support and a compassionate presence. Respond to patient calls, requests, or alarms promptly and address their comfort and safety needs.
Assistance with activities and therapies: Support patients in participating in therapeutic activities, exercises, and rehabilitation programs as prescribed by the healthcare team. Encourage and assist with mobility and ambulation.
Collaboration with healthcare team: Work collaboratively with registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and patient-centered care. Communicate observations, changes in patient condition, and pertinent information to the appropriate team members.
