Responsibilities:
Assist the doctor with a variety of administrative tasks including scheduling, billing, and documentation.
- Work with patients suffering from physical, emotional, or mental illness.
- Guide patients into exam rooms and prepare them for examination, and assist provider with the examination when appropriate.
- Maintain clean and stocked rooms, orderly medical office and care for equipment.
- Assist in training students and other medical assistants.
- Answer questions from patients and explain details of treatment plans to them.
- Gather and organize medical files
- Gather vitals, lab specimens, spirometry, EKG’s, schedule tests and consults by other providers.
- Draw blood samples or administer vaccinations and immunizations.
- Answer and return phone calls and handle clinical concerns (regarding lab questions, prescription refills, homecare follow-up, etc.).
- Process incoming specimens in-house, and coordinate pick up of outside labs.
- Complete morning and nightly checklists.
- Must be English/Spanish Bilingual. Fluent in Spanish (speaking, writing, listening)

Schedule:
- Our clinics are open Monday-Saturday. MA normally works 10 hour shifts 4 day per week and some Saturdays.
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- BLS Certification (Required)
- Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred
Language:
- Must be English/Spanish Bilingual. Fluent in Spanish (speaking, writing, listening)
