Performs secretarial and clerical duties, assists in managing daily work flow including functioning as a focal communication source. Be a liaison between our assessment offices, outlying facilities, and referral sources in order to coordinate assessment scheduling and handle the flow of the assessment process.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge of admission and exclusionary criteria according to the current EMTALA policy for child, adolescent, adult and geriatric inpatient programs.
- To be liaison between our assessment office and outlying facilities to coordinate assessment scheduling and manage the flow of the assessment process.
- To field referral calls to the appropriate assessment location.
- Handles psychiatric placement for all ages when a bed is unavailable at Decatur Morgan West and makes continuous efforts to find placement at an alternate facility.
- Completes inpatient registration process accurately verifying correct information input prior to completion.
- Maintains confidentiality and security of all records, files, messages and personnel
- Maintains, orders and stock sufficient clerical and supplies for all units and assessment office.
- Receives requests from patients and families, making referral to appropriate personnel, post verification of patient ID number.
- Answers phone promptly and does not leave desk unattended.
- Ensures indicated flow of accurate communication and information.
- Assist in maintaining accurate patient census.
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize based on acuity of work flow.
- Participates in hospital operations during times of high census, disasters, and other emergency events.
- Adheres to policies and procedures and demonstrates practices that ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, co-workers and self.
- CPR certification.
- MOAB/CPI certification.

Education:
High School Graduate
Experience:
Secretary/Clerical experience desirable
Health care experience desirable
