Summary:
The manufacturing operations manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production, manufacturing, and distribution to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. The manufacturing operations manager will develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity, and cost. This position is responsible for the overall output, including the production, receiving, storage, and shipping of products to meet customer needs. This position must ensure that the processes, equipment, documentation, and personnel are in place to meet the business objectives of the company.
Duties:
- Supervisory responsibilities include but are not limited to recommending hiring, coaching, skills development, recognition and rewards, staff productivity, and performance management to include disciplinary actions up to and including termination. Communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing all policies and procedures.
- Initiatives positive methods of driving the Supervisor team’s excellence through follow-up, and providing consistent and fair feedback on performance.
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing production standards.
- Monitor equipment and ensure that they are in good working order.
- Ensures operation and maintenance of equipment by calling for repairs and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions, and responding to requests.
- Provide training and educational materials to staff.
- Direct and coordinate daily operations of the manufacturing plant.
- Champion the conversion to lean manufacturing and engender an environment of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Establish targets, both financial and non-financial, with clear work plans, and hold managers accountable for achievement.
- Develop and implement a lean conversion strategy that will drive the necessary results to support the site’s strategic initiatives
- Develop communication and performance management methodologies that serve to keep the value streams advised relative to business requirements, performance, and how the Arrowhead Engineered Products Business Xcelleration Program is used to exploit strengths and create driven advantages.
- Build an organizational development strategy that will drive the necessary skills and competencies in the workforce to meet its customer requirements.
- Provide successful implementation and expand the use of Arrowhead Engineered Products Business Xceleration Program
- Review drawings and specifications of a particular product and plan the production process, including where and how to cut the workpiece, the correct tools and materials for the job, and the sequence of steps to follow in the production of the product.
- Problem-solve and make decisions on ways to decrease cycle times and efficiency of setups.
- Perform the machining operations, watch for problems in the production process, and check the accuracy of the finished piece against drawings using calibrated measuring tools.
- Stay current on machining technology by learning new techniques and learn how to operate new machines.
- Work as a team in the machine shop with tooling, inspection, and other production and assembly departments.
- Develops warehouse and manufacturing design by planning layout, product flow, and product handling systems, evaluating and recommending new equipment.
- Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors, and evaluates the performance of warehouse associates.
- Ensures the associate's ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations.
- Maintains personnel structure and staffing levels to accomplish departmental objectives in an effective, efficient manner.
- Conducts daily meetings to convey daily tasks to employees.
- Work with leads, employees, and management on warehouse and manufacturing areas that require improvement.
- Responsible for ensuring necessary supplies are on hand to operate the warehouse efficiently.
- Implements and enforces safety standards to promote a culture of working safely.
- Maintains workflow by monitoring and upgrading processes, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures and systems, facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points, and initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations Management, and/or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of manufacturing and warehouse operations experience
- 10+ years of supervisory experience.
- CNC machining and punch press experience preferred.
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite, and ERP systems.
- Some travel may be required.
- Certified to operate forklifts, cherry pickers, and swing reach trucks preferred.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk on level surfaces for a prolonged period. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms above should height and below the waist. The employee must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. 70% of the day and up to 65 lbs. 30% of the day.
