The Legal coordinator is a vital contributor to our legal team. In this role, you will support the delivery of quality legal services to our business partners by providing advanced administrative and related support to the company attorneys and paralegals, while exercising discretion concerning sensitive or confidential matters. Responsibilities range from complex and specialized secretarial tasks to administrative activities, while working collaboratively with others. This position supports a group of attorneys as a primary assignment and provides support to paralegals and others as needed.
Responsibility:
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: (Duties with an asterisk* are shared with the Sr. Corporate Paralegal)
- Provides administrative and secretarial support for the Legal Department, including but not limited to, processing invoices/checks received (coordinating with Accounting), managing and ordering supplies, picking up/distributing mail, preparing mailings, and scheduling department meetings.
- Supports Legal Department with project work, legal correspondence and vendor correspondence.
- Files annual reports, dissolutions and amendments for CB/MSBC entities.*
- Manages subsidiary and director/officer lists; updates and distributes same as needed.*
- Uploads/manages contracts in DocuSign; handles contract-related inquiries.*
- Drafts contract amendments and notices.*
- Supports Compliance with alcohol-related research, license applications/renewals, and updates License HQ as needed.
- Assists with processing Annual D&O questionnaires.*
- Prepares Cease & Desist letters as needed.
- Assists attorneys with discovery related to pending/threatened litigation, as needed.*
- Sends out Officer Code of Conduct acknowledgments.
- Assists with all Rocking Chair-related tasks and correspondence.*
- Monitors privacy portals for Cracker Barrel and Maple Street.
- Manages all Employee Relations intake, assigns cases to ER personnel and other departments as appropriate.
- Organize and maintain trademark/IP related files and data base.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience and Education
- High School Diploma and 1-3 years of administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Legal administrative experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- High level of professional
- Excellent grammar and punctuation skills.
- Active listener and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work effectively and proactively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient computer skills, to include Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint software, Adobe Pro, DocuSign (ability to adapt to new software programs).
- Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills.
- Detail and multi-task oriented.
- Effective at anticipating problems & developing resolutions.
- Must be a pro-active problem solver.
- Self-motivation with the ability to work with minimal supervision and schedule work independently.
- Ability to maintain sensitive or confidential information.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks concurrently and to meet deadlines.
