Newman Hospitality is looking for an experienced Full Time Maintenance Technician Lead for Miami Dade and Broward County. We are looking for someone who is proactive and has great leadership skills as this person will eventually become a maintenance supervisor and hire his own team.
What to expect:
We are a Property Management company managing over 140 Short Term Rentals, of which 80 are in these counties. As the go-to maintenance technician on our team, you'll help troubleshoot basic to intermediate issues at our properties, fix inadequate parts of homes to make them functional, as well as conduct general home improvement tasks.
What your day to day will look like
● Perform maintenance to our properties such as repairing furniture, unclogging drains, painting, and replacing broken items.
● Complete Basic HVAC repairs, water heaters, garbage disposals, plumbing basics, shower heads, sink hoses, changing gaskets, toilet seat lids, wax rings, levers, flaps, drywall, paint, caulking, basic electrical, appliance work etc.
● Maintain organization and upkeep and inventory of supplies in storage such as tools, extra furniture and lamps, space heaters, and fans.
● Responsible for setting scope, technical specifications, budget tracking, schedule material and equipment requirements, subcontractor/vendor bidding and management, and overall planning and execution of cost-effective facility and maintenance projects
● Coordinate with third-party service providers and assist with furniture installation, constructing furniture, installation of cabinetry and mounting TVs
● Supply Runs and ordering, sourcing parts needed for repairs, etc
You are a good match if you have:
● Minimum 5 yrs. of experience conducting home maintenance.
● Advanced experience in two or more trades: electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting, roofing, or general appliances.
● High School Diploma or GED (required)
● EPA Universal Certification (required)
● Fantastic troubleshooter skills and problem solver
● Knowledge of handy tools
● Lives in Broward or Miami Dade county
● Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
● Has a smartphone, laptop and basic technical computer skills in order to use company software.
● Ability to lift heavy objects 50+ lbs
● Must have SUV/ Truck and active Driver's License (required)
● CAMT Certified (Preferred)
● Self-motivated, self-sufficient, proactive, detail oriented and a team player.
● Great communication skills and ability to think on your feet.
