Laboratory Technician - Shawnee, KS
This is a full-time, hourly position.

Experience / Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry or related field preferred.
  • Previous laboratory experience preferred.

General Job Description
  • Perform various analytical methods per AOAC methodology.
  • Perform microbiological testing and interpretation per ‘Environmental Program’.
  • Monitor, perform and document daily, weekly and monthly equipment / instrument calibration.
  • Daily recording of all analytical results in applicable laboratory logs.
  • Perform 3rd party comparative analytical and microbiological collaborative studies.
  • Maintain laboratory work areas and equipment in an organized, clean and working condition.
  • Perform standard maintenance on equipment.
  • Responsibility to identify and communicate food safety and/or product integrity issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Work in the most effective, efficient and safe manner at all times.
  • Complete microbial non-conformance reports.
  • Responsible for monitoring a preventive control measure, in this position’s absence, refer to ‘In Case of Absence’ above.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
