Unity Lab Services provides a single source for integrated lab services, support, and supply management. Our customized service offerings and elite service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customer’s laboratory's business needs.

This position is in Thousand Oaks, CA.

Discover Impactful Work:

The position supports the daily operations of the Scientific Service Program, enabling the team to consistently deliver high levels of customer service for Research and Development. Responsible for meeting goals and objectives of the customer location, as determined by contractual requirements. Includes direct support of customer research labs and other service areas related to Unity Lab Services core offerings.

A day in the Life:

  • Protein Analytical Assays: protein concentration, endotoxin testing, micro-capillary electrophoresis, and HPLC.
  • Create final protein lot aliquots.
  • Preparative Purification: run Pro A capture column using standardized single column method.
  • ATKA maintenance: run sanitization programs between users and ensure instruments are endotoxin free.
  • Prep column maintenance: maintain inventory, order, pack columns, and determine column packing efficiency.
  • Routine maintenance of high throughput purification platform "P3".
  • Maintain adequate buffer levels and waste management.
  • Instrument maintenance and ordering materials.
  • Follows well defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOP’s & work instructions.
  • Support other duties as assigned.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of two-year degree and experience.
Experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in a GXP laboratory setting preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Attention to detail; technical problem-solving skills; and ability to multi-task.
  • Trained in basic laboratory safety.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven excellence in customer service skills.
  • Detail oriented, problem solver, promotes a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and confident working in systems and databases.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently within customer location.
  • Walking/standing for 75-85% of the day.
  • May pass through areas where chemical-based allergens may be in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc.).
  • Ability to lift, push and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 50 lbs.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $19.66–$26.00.
