Job Description
Overview:
As a Steampunk Junior IT Applications Engineer, you’ll be working with the Steampunk IT CIO Team to develop, test, support, and maintain internal IT applications.
Contributions:
You will be responsible for the oversight of the full development lifecycle of applications with a thorough security mindset. Some of your responsibilities and experiences may include:
- Using agile methodologies to develop software solutions and improvements.
- Successfully testing developed applications before production deployment will be critical in this role.
- Acting as the first line of support for IT helpdesk application engineering support tickets. Support tasks will include troubleshooting and debugging application code, analysis of system workflow processes, and the ability to work with the IT team and end users to determine the best solutions and outcomes.
- Communicating productively with all Steampunk departments when working though system requirements, demo delivery, feedback reception, and ongoing support of IT applications.
- Building your current skillsets by learning new relevant IT technologies, which will assist you with the development of the most innovative, productive, and secure applications and processes for internal IT.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
- BS in Computer Science or scientific field (engineering, physics), or equivalent experience
- Experience with IT automation such as Microsoft Logic Apps, Microsoft Automations, or PowerShell
- Understand of agile methodologies
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure integrations and tools
- Experience with Microsoft 365 applications
- Understanding of IT security concepts
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, PowerShell, Bash
- Experience with scripting
