The IPM Technician will mix and apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides through sprays, dusts, vapors, soil incorporation or chemical application on trees, shrubs, lawns, and/or botanical crops. The role of the IPM Technician usually requires specific training and State or Federal certification.
- Applies fertilizers and plant protectants to landscape plants and turfgrass.
- Performs routine safety inspections on all spraying equipment.
- Compiles reports of pesticide usage.
- Properly cleans equipment each day.
- Completes daily and weekly calibration checks.
- Repairs any leaking equipment.
- Reports any equipment malfunctions that cannot be repaired by the technician.
- Makes minor equipment repairs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
