JOB DESCRIPTION

OVERVIEW

CGLA:

Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy is a single gender, small learning community for girls in grades 6-12. The college preparation curriculum is centered on Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). CGLA offers girls an accelerated and integrated remediation approach that is intended to move them to proficient and advanced levels within core academic subjects. A range of social supports that reflects girls’ social development needs are integrated into the educational experience.

MEHP:

Located on the site of the former Highland Park Grammar School, Montessori Elementary at Highland Park will be an anchor institution in one of Chattanooga's most vibrant and diverse urban neighborhoods. Founded in 1889, Highland Park is a historic district that is experiencing explosive growth and redevelopment. Opened in August, 2021, Montessori Elementary at Highland Park is a co-educational public charter school offering educational programs for children entering Pre-K3 through 5th grade. The school serves families from all backgrounds and provides a dynamic, participatory environment that integrates Montessori childhood education with STEM experiential learning.

RESPONSIBILITIES

HUMAN RESOURCES

o Responsible for new employee preboarding and onboarding requirements

o Maintain volunteer database and ensure all requirements are met for each new and returning volunteer

o Assist the Director of HR & Operations with the recruitment and retention plan for faculty and staff; attend recruitment events

ADMISSIONS

o Assist the Director of HR & Operations with the implementation for the student recruitment plan for both schools; attend recruitment events

o Oversee the student enrollment process to include the processing of applications, orientation, and registration assistance

NUTRITION

o Process free and reduced lunch applications and maintain the free and reduced lunch database

o Tracks daily meal counts for both schools

o Assist the Director of HR & Operations with all nutrition reviews and audit preparation

GENERAL

o Adhere to all school policies, procedures, and guidelines

o Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

o 1-3 years of experience in a human resources or operations setting

o Strong Microsoft Office skills

o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks

o Pass a criminal background check

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILLS

o Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to deal effectively with students, educators, parents, and community members

o Demonstrate excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills

o Maintain high personal standards and integrity

o Able to be a positive team-player and communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, students, and families

COMPENSATION

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with credentials and experience. Starting salary range is $35,000 - $45,000.
