Assistant Head Chef – Camp

Temporary Full Time:

6 Days/Week, 10Hrs/Day for 13 Weeks (40 hours)

Hunter, NY

Salary: $800 weekly, 13 weeks

Camp Loyaltown is a sizeable residential summer camp for children and adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. The Assistant Head Chef is responsible for completing whatever meal-related tasks are delegated to them by the Executive Chef. In addition to meal preparation & cleaning up tasks, the Assistant Chef is responsible for the supervision of and working with the Kitchen Staff during mealtimes.

In this role, you will also:

• Practice and promote the agency’s mission statements in every interaction through family and community engagement: Citizens supports people to live the life they choose.
• Adhere to all regulations, agency policy and procedures, the employee handbook, and agency and program training requirements.
• Report to the Justice Center as a mandated reporter if there is reasonable cause to suspect abuse or neglect.
• Work with Executive Chef in managing staff.
• Prepare 3 meals a day and clean up kitchen & surrounding areas.
• Periodic count of utensils, dishes, cups, pitchers etc.
• Instruct and direct kitchen staff.
• Cover for Executive Chef on their day off.

We require:

• Food handling safety certificate (SafeServ)
• Previous kitchen experience, including prep work and maintenance
• Ethical Practice
• The ability to lift up to 50lbs
