Job Description
FedEx Ground Contractor, Deepra, Inc., is looking for a Manager/Business Contact to oversee operations of contracted routes in Memphis, TN. In this job, the BC/Manager will oversee day to day operations, manage scheduling and payroll, and as needed, drive a route.
Day to Day Operations:
- Work to ensure all daily P&D routes are staffed, trucks are operational, and routes are generating sufficient revenue
- Drive for contingency as necessary
- Assist with recording and reporting timesheets for payroll
- Create and adjust routes in DRO (dynamic route optimization) system - training available but experience preferred
- Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repairs on equipment at regular intervals to avoid unnecessary breakdowns
- Work with peers to coordinate the training of every new driver to ensure compliance with all company policies and regulations
- Ensure Driver compliance with daily duties regarding paperwork, Hours of Service compliance, Pre-Trip/Post-Trip inspection
- Create a culture of safety and ensure each driver is up to date on all monthly safety training
- Communicate with FedEx Ground staff when necessary
- Provide quality service to FedEx Ground with available drivers and operable equipment to deliver packages
- Work with regional managers, AO and Drivers to ensure the fleet is operating and maintenance is routinely performed on all trucks
- Communicate with regional managers and AO to achieve effective performance management of all Drivers
- Plan for contingency – establishing relationships with part-time drivers as well as other FedEx contractors in the building to help one another out in times of need
- Serve as a contingency resource and deliver packages in the event of driver call-offs, driver shortages, heavy volume, or any other unforeseen circumstances

Manager Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older (for insurance purposes)
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be willing to submit to a background check
- Must be able to pass a drug test and DOT physical (both paid for by FedEx)
- Physically willing, ready, and able to drive a P-1000 sized vehicle (Large Step Van) and safely deliver packages to both residential and commercial recipients
- Previous FedEx experience strongly preferred, experience with UPS, Amazon or other logistics providers a plus
- GroundCloud QualCert certification a plus
