Welcome to Western Feed Mills, Inc. We are a privately-owned feed manufacturing and distribution company located in South Central Kansas. We are hiring a General Manager to join our team in Cedar Vale, KS (about 30 miles east of Arkansas City, KS). In this role you will be heavily involved in the day-to-day operations including but not limited to Budgets, P&L, Plant Operations, Transportation, Quality Control, Regulatory Affairs, and Sales Support.
We manufacture feed and nutrition products for all major classes of agricultural livestock including beef, dairy, sheep, goats, and swine. Our primary focus is beef cattle, where we manufacture range feeds, supplements, starter feeds, pasture minerals and feedlot base mixes.

What you will be doing:
Manage daily operations and planning the use of materials and human resources.
Oversee all plant operation functions including receiving, production planning, production process, storage of materials, maintenance, and logistics.
Purchase and contract feed ingredients and equipment.
Establish operating budgets and optimize expenses.
Manage production costs efficiently relative to volume produced.
Management and supervision of staff to include multiple direct reports.
Responsible for all safety, quality and production standards.
Monitor company performance and set goals for growth.
Oversee and manager sales team.
Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing clients.
Maintains compliance with State & Federal regulations.
Ensure all company activities adhere to legal guidelines and policies.

This job is for you if you have:
5+ years of operational management experience with agriculture feed manufacturing, budgeting, P&L, freight logistics, supervising employees, and feed sales.
Prior experience with government feed regulations.
Outstanding leadership abilities.
Excellent written & oral communication skills.
Self-starter with a team first mindset.
