Furlong Gallery Assistant & Student Gallery Coordinator
The Furlong Gallery Assistant and Coordinator of the student galleries aids in managing the day-to-day operations these spaces on campus. General responsibilities of the position include assisting the Furlong Director and overseeing the installation and de-installation of all Furlong Gallery and student gallery exhibitions, maintaining lending inventory of the university art collection, overseeing student workers and their schedules, coordinating opening receptions, and ordering supplies and materials for gallery and framing operations. This individual is also involved in the curation of select Furlong Gallery exhibitions and pursues external support through grant writing and partnerships.

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION
The Furlong Gallery is located in Micheels Hall, and is home to both the university art collection and a two-room gallery for the display of work by professional artists and designers, as well as special juried student exhibitions. The university art collection is also housed in the Furlong Gallery facilities, and serves the campus as a lending and educational collection.
Gallery 209 is the School of Art & Design¿s main student gallery, with new shows featured weekly, with work being installed and exhibited by students. This facility supports the BFA in Studio Art, as well as the other programs and courses offered within the School of Art & Design.
The School of Art & Design is comprised of two departments (Art & Art History and Design) and has approximately 85 faculty/staff and 1,200 students, making it the largest public higher education art and design entity in the upper Midwest. There are nine different programs, including Game Design and Development, Graphic & Interactive Design, Animation and Digital Media, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Studio Art, Video Production, Arts Administration and Entrepreneurship, and a graduate-level program in Design.
