Job Purpose

Enersys is looking for a summer intern to join our DOCSIS firmware and Network Engineering team to assist with tasks related to our cable service product line. This position is temporary and the candidate will be required to work onsite daily out of the Indianapolis office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work on firmware development tasks for our networking devices including coding and testing
  • Assist with network troubleshooting and maintenance tasks related to DOCSIS and TCP/IP networking
  • Use of C and C++ to develop new firmware tasks and modify existing modules
  • Primarily work with Linux-based systems in daily tasks (windows use is also daily), including writing of bash scripts.
  • Provide support for the team with critical thinking skills to help identify and troubleshooting issues
  • Aid in technical writing tasks such as defect writeup, design documents, technical writeups
  • Work with the team to gain hands on experience and learn about the various aspects of DOCSIS, TCP/IP networking in a Linux environment and gain experience in working with a team of senior firmware engineers


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • Knowledge in TCP/IP networking, and Linux.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be comfortable with working in a team environment.
